The number one question not answered by the Nunes memo
2/5/18 | Me

Posted on 02/05/2018 7:36:31 AM PST by Brilliant

The number one question not answered by the Nunes memo is whether the FBI and DOJ informed the court that the requested warrant was part of a broader investigation of the Trump campaign. If I were a FISA judge, I would certainly want to know if the reason the FBI wanted the warrant was to spy on the opposition party's Presidential campaign.

It is difficult to see how that information could have been concealed from the court, given that the FISA application cited liberally from the GPS dossier and the GPS dossier was about Trump. However, it's apparent that they only quoted parts of the GPS dossier in the FISA application, so it's possible I think that they excised those portions that would have alerted the court that they were really investigating Trump, not Page.

In addition, the memo mentions that Papadopoulos was discussed in the FISA application, and Papadopoulos had nothing to do with Page. So maybe they mentioned Papadopoulos because they did talk about Trump. However that is not clear, and the fact that the memo criticizes the FBI and DOJ for mentioning Papadopoulos at all suggests that the FBI and DOJ did not tie the discussion of Papadopoulos together with anything that was relevant in the FISA application.

The memo also mentions the Isikoff article, which was about the Trump campaign. However, again, the memo states only that they quoted parts of the Isikoff article. There is nothing specifically stating whether those parts mentioned the Trump campaign.

I find it very puzzling that the memo would dance around whether the investigation of the Trump campaign was mentioned in the FISA application.

Well, the justification for the warrant was probable cause which they lied to obtain. That’s punishable perjury regardless of the overall intent to obtain the warrant.

Have the judges sought legal recourse due to the false application?

It was all a ruse to cover up their real reason- they just wanted to spy on Trump.

They would have been better off just spying on him without anyone knowing, because now there’s a paper trail.

Don’t think they have not learned that lesson.

FISA judges are Obama appointees. When they die, undertakers will have to screw them into the ground.

Many unanswered questions. The Nunes memo only mentioned Carter Page and late october.

I always assumed Trump was being spied upon many months before that.

We know that the NSA and Admiral Mike Rogers conducted audits of intel supplied to FBI under FISA as early as 2015, and found problems, which lead to an internal review - and his pointing out the problems to the FISA court. At that point (October 2016) as I understand the DOJ National Security Division (John Carlin) basically admitted it and refiled their FISA applications retroactively. Carlin then immediately resigned - 5 weeks before the election. on Nov. 17, Rogers went to Trump Towers himself to warn Trump he was being spied upon. Trump immediately moved his transition operations to his golf club in New Jersey.

Is this correct? If so, the Nunes memo was a mere scratching of the surface.

McCabe in his testimony is alleged to have said that Comey had three FISA applications turned down, then came back to the judge and said Obama was ordering him to issue the warrants.

That’s why McCabe’s testimony must be released.

Gohmert Pushing to Subpoena Transcripts From FISA Court Hearings (VIDEO)
thegatewaypundit.com ^ | February 4, 2018

Rep Gohmert appeared on Fox News Sunday to talk about the FISA abuse memo which was released Friday. Gohmert also revealed he is requesting the House Judiciary Committee subpoena the FISA court hearing transcripts.

“I have prepared a letter that I plan to submit to and hopefully have other people sign on with me tomorrow on our Judiciary Committee we have a great Chairman [Bob Goodlatte] on our Judiciary Committee. He wants to get to the facts and what I’m asking him for is that we as the Judiciary Committee subpoena the transcripts from the FISA court hearings, the four different ones at least regarding the dossier…I want to hear everything that was said,” Gohmert said.

Gohmert wants to know why the FISA judge hasn’t put anyone in jail for committing a fraud against the court. Hint: The FISA judge was appointed by Obama.

My question. Since there is now reason to oust Rosenshitz, why isn’t he gone?

The FBI opened an investigation of the Trump campaign in July 2016 to pursue the alleged collusion between the campaign and the Russians. It was based largely on the Steele dossier along with what I believe was a setup meeting between Don Jr. and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary.

Obama always has the goods on his rivals, because Obama always surveils his rivals. They were surveilling Trump with or without a warrant.

They didn’t need a very big fig leaf because Trump wasn’t supposed to win.

Since the judge was an Obama appointee, he would approve the request on even the flimsiest of reasons.

Nobody outside of the deep state and the Intelligence Committee knows the entire contents of the affidavit sworn to by those out to get Trump.

My understanding is there was no mention of the Trump campaign

This Is the core of why the action was outrageous. It was a setup to monitor Trump (article 1 warrants go deeper than named target) but tried to conceal the actual intent.

It was too late: they were already embedding Trump’s wiretapping into the PDB since some time ago; there IS a paper trail - above top secret as it is - that needed matching authorization records from FISA.

What if the FISC judges are politically corrupt, and were in on the scheme, and didn't give one damn about the evidence?

Not that we know of. But I am hoping that shoe will fall. It would be nice to see one of these judges issue an order to show cause why the attorneys should not be sanctioned.
