Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals on Friday for attempting to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election, so naturally, CNN is doubling down on its coverage of possible collusion between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign.
In fact, the network sent chief international correspondent Matthew Chance to St. Petersburg, Russia to literally dig through the garbage of an office building housing the alleged troll farm in order to try and find some clues.
This is the office in which that atmosphere of chaos was stoked from the Russian side, Chance told guest host Jim Sciutto. Thats why 13 Russian individuals, including the financial benefactor, the person who bankrolls that organization, have now been indicted in the Unite States.
You looked through the trash there? Sciutto shot back. What did you find?
Yes, we did, Chance answered with his tail between his legs. We came here expecting this office to be empty, but, in fact, all day here, weve been here throughout the course of the day, people have been going in and out.
We went to the trash can to see what we could find with old people dumping rubbish there. new computers. New computers are being delivered here and they are throwing it away with the rubbish.

CNN in the trash how fitting
If CNN’s Matthew Chance is hungry I’ll be glad to feed him. No one needs to be digging through the trash for a meal.
I’m 99.99% certain the Russian Troll Farm evidence was already known in the US government and was simply handed to Mueller’s team to take credit for so that the Special Counsel could be seen doing something about Russia Russia Russia, and this evidence was not collected or developed by Mueller.
The deep state needed something to try to bolster the legitimacy of the Special Counsel in light of what the Congressional investigations were turning up as to the shady origins of the Russia-Trump investigation.
They want to keep the investigation going in the run-up to the mid-terms, so that Mueller can hand congress a secret file of alleged Trump obstruction and other wrongdoing that the Dems can leak and otherwise use in the mid-term elections.
Did they work a tenth as hard looking for BOs birth certificate?
They never have to close the investigation as long as the indictments are hanging out there. Just 13 open cases.
I know. The symbolism in this is too funny! Now we can confirm that network in truly in the “dumpster”. Just add a fire for the full effect. LOL
they haven’t emptied the dumpsters since 2014 ?
almost as bad as having 2 reporters in the same parking lot pretending they are remote from each other while “reporting” to each other.
“Homeless CNN reporter must dumpster-dive for food after network goes bankrupt from falling ratings: ‘Will work for crumbs’, says Matthew Chance. . .”
Great post, all of it. Rosenstein and Mueller have been at or near the top of the deep state command for years. From the looks of things they've locked Trump down to protests over Twitter too. Hopefully that's wrong but I've still not seen any true evidence anyone in the DOJ is actually investigating anyone who was in government under Obama, and Sessions has testified he feels this is inappropriate as it appears political. The IG report is often mentioned but that is officially only a "review" of the Hillary e-mail investigation and the results will likely just be referred back to the deep state for possible action, of which there may be none. Would like to be incorrect but right now it appears we're getting rolled. They have plenty of evidence to do something already if they were going to.
At what point does “journalism” change into treason?
I hope the Russians don’t get the idea he’s an American spy! That would just be tragic if a CNN guy was busted on video being a spy and sent to the lubyanka./
It would be a blow but I could probably start eating again by breakfast time.
LOL! You’re awful.
These people will do anything to drive Trump out of office.
Including lying about him and digging through trash in Russia to “prove” he colluded with the Russians.
I guess that’s why fake news fits them to a T.
Would be cool if the FSB arrested them as spies.
So the CNN reporter is working in Russia, trying as hard as he can to find physical evidence of a Russian intelligence operation, at the building where he suspects it is. He’ll be lucky if he just winds up persona non grata about 24 hours from now.
Mark Dice call your office.
It’s hard to be too cynical about this. People seem to be placing a lot of hope in the forthcoming IG report but they may end up disappointed. It may turn out to be a rather weak document merely recommending slight changes to DOJ policies and procedures to encourage public confidence in federal law enforcement.
What we need, and have needed for quite some time, is a new Special Counsel genuinely independent from the longtime DOJ/FBI/IC establishment and from the Clintons and Obama to investigate and prosecute wrongdoing in the fixing of the Hillary investigation, the use of government process such as FISA warrants, FiveEyes capabilities and unmasking to spy on a political opponent, the leak by Comey of government material to corruptly cause the appointment of a special prosecutor as revenge for his own firing, and so forth.
There has been a shift recently in the talking points by both the Dems and GOPe. Before, Mueller’s role was described as necessary because of the need to investigate suspected crimes involving coordination/links between the Trump campaign and the Putin regime.
Now, Mueller’s role is described as conducting a counterintelligence investigation against Russia for meddling in the election, of which only a part is to look for any coordination with the Trump campaign. Of course, we didn’t need a special counsel to investigate Russian meddling not involving Trump. The FBI, CIA and the rest of the intel community did that before the Mueller appointment, and continue to do that after the Mueller appointment.
But as the origin and motivation of the Trump-Russia investigation looks increasingly questionable, they need to justify Mueller in another way, and to protect them all from being held criminally accountable for wrongdoing.
A Youtube vlogger says that a Russian publication wrote all about the Click Farm last fall and WaPo wrote an article based on that not long after. Mueller seems to have gotten his information from those two articles.
